3D WebGL & Digital Twin
Aether 3D Spatial Digital Twin Engine
Client: Aether Spatial Robotics (Tokyo, Japan)
The Engineering Challenge
Aether needed an in-browser 3D digital twin engine capable of visualizing high-fidelity robotic hardware meshes in real-time without crashing client browser tabs or degrading below 60 FPS on lower-powered devices.
The Architectural Solution
BM Development designed a single-canvas Three.js WebGL rendering pipeline featuring custom GLSL procedural shaders, dynamic frustum culling, and strict memory lifecycle disposal hooks.
Technical Hurdles Solved
Eliminated WebGL context loss and browser tab memory leaks through explicit buffer geometry and texture disposal
Developed dynamic Level of Detail (LOD) shaders clamping draw calls to under 38 per frame
Implemented progressive Draco mesh decompression for sub-2.1s initial 3D model loads
Verified Production Outcomes
Locked 60 FPS performance maintained across 50,000+ concurrent WebGL browser sessions
140% increase in product configurator user engagement and client quote conversions
Full compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility guidelines via DOM fallback tree
“Most agencies build 3D websites that crash mobile browsers within three scrolls. BM Development delivered a locked 60 FPS WebGL pipeline that runs flawlessly.”
